Hello,
One thing we forgot to discuss last week was if we
should ask for IRU or
"traditional" lease for the E3D fibers. I guess that since EISCAT wanted
no one-time-fees it is going to be traditional lease. What do you think?
we went with a "traditional" lease model with Karesuvanto-KilpisjƤrvi fiber but
the contract term is still 10 years plus options up to 15 years. I think it depends what
are the options regarding the funding models available and which gives the best pricing on
longer term. It's still quite a big long term commitment with equipment if we build
optical networks over those fibers. Also the "access fiber" part from the main
roads up to the research stations may be better done together with electricity cable
installations as we discussed during the meeting.
