We had a brief discussion of this in the CTO Forum call today. We agreed that, 10G or 100G, the design remains pretty much the same, and that with modern DCI optical gear and small(ish) routers, the cost savings from scaling down to 10G is quite limited.

When will you arrive in Copenhagen for the meeting next friday? Could we either meet for a dinner on thursday or 45 minutes before the NDN NG meeting starts on Friday.

Just a note from me about the obvious;
it is also important to communicate clearly that network redunancy might be of higher importance than maybe earlier anticipated. In such a rural area fiber breaches and network equipment faults may take several days to fix.

Agree. It’s important that people understand that, given the geography, time-to-repair can be *vastly* different that for a regular campus network connection.
