GREN Mappers,
After a brief hiatus to the regular schedule, our next regular videoconference meeting. Zoom details below.
Proposed agenda:
1. Update on progress to development of the NML-based data format, Python library to support it, and prototype visualisation.
2. Following TNC, the first GNA-G meeting, and the GÉANT General Assembly, an update on the presentation, reception, and engagement.
3. FYI: Extending WG membership to new interested stakeholders.
4. Summer break? Continue regular operations? Somewhere in between?
5. Business arising.
Cheers,
Ryan

Greetings GREN Mappers,
This message comes on the heels of TNC, the first GNA-G meeting, and the GÉANT General Assembly, all of which generated substantial interest in and feedback for this project!
Following our usual bi-weekly pattern, we would normally meet today. However, our recurring meeting series ended just before TNC, so no meeting was scheduled for today. Further, I am taking some much-needed time off this week after those two events, and it would be difficult for me to secure a solid WiFi connection in my current location.
That said, I would like to update this group with the technical progress on the NML-based data format we’ve been prototyping, the prototype visualisation we used to demo the format at TNC, and the Python library for parsing and writing the format. I’d also like to discuss our engagement and reception at TNC, GNA-G, and GÉANT GA, and ponder our next steps. Finally, I would like to take the pulse of the group to see whether there is appetite to break for the summer, or keep working through it at full speed, or somewhere in-between.
I propose a meeting next week, Tuesday July 2, at the usual time (12:00 UTC). If there are no objections, I will schedule that meeting and send the invitation tomorrow.
Cheers,
Ryan
We should talk to this group.

Subject: [Global Research Map] Global Research Map update v1.0.3
Hi All,
We are happy to announce that we have updated the Global Research Map to v1.0.3.
https://globalresearchmap.org/
This update brings the following features and improvements:
Map Statistics: The map now dynamically displays a count of networks, circuits and pop locations that are currently being shown on the map.
Search Bar: The map now has a search bar in the sidebar that could be used to search the networks and focus on a network by clicking on the search result.
Show/Hide All Layers buttons have now been moved from the sidebar on to the map as the map control buttons.
Map usability has been improved for mobile devices and tablets.
Link Preview: A link preview will now be shown when the map is shared on several platforms.
Overall design of the page has been improved following the principles of flat design.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks,
Sreemukha Taduru (Sree)
