Hi Michael, All,
I think there are two issues at hand, and were touched on in the call a couple of weeks.
On the one hand, we want to raise the profile of the activity among RENs across the globe. Ryan and I recently gave a presentation on the map initiative at a CEO Forum meeting, and it was suggested that a marcomms campaign be planned to promote the activity and our interest in wider participation. Marcomms teams are a big stakeholder in maps, so making sure they are aware is important. They can also help promote within their organisations as well as provide useful input.
Secondly, there is also the wider promotion. There is some discussion of a where an overall visualisation would be hosted, a website, etc. These elements all concern Marcomms so again, getting them involved in discussions is I think appropriate.
I hope this clarifies a little.
Please note that I will unfortunately not be able to join tomorrow's call, as I will be taking the afternoon of to spend it with my son on his birthday.
So to all, please do let me know who from your Marcomms team should be invited to an introductory call, so I can get a doodle set up.
Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom
I wonder whether it is not a little precipitate to go so very public before offering more elaborate visualisation tools than the extremely simple ones currently available.
It has been clear from the beginning that the primary intention of the initiative was to provide solid mechanisms to define a geographical location-sensitive database, and this seems ti have been achieved. However, the visualisation question has so far been shelved, and we need now to discuss more elaborate means of presenting our networks in a visually useful way.
The question to ask now is how may this be achieved in such a way that marcoms may more easily incorporate products of this more elaborate tool. This will be a second phase of the mapping project, with new expertises.
When do we begin?
Michael

Hello Everyone,
I hope that this message finds everyone well.
Over a number of calls in recent weeks, we have been discussing taking the map to the next level, for which increased engagement at a global level is highly desirable. In order to consider ways to best promote this activity, we would like to arrange a meeting specifically to discuss setting up a "campaign" to encourage greater participation.
The plan then is to arrange a meeting to discuss with interested Marcomms representatives from those already participating in the collaboration, but also to invite Marcomms representatives from those not yet closely involved (e.g. the regional networks in Africa and Asia-Pacific).
To start looking at timings for the discussion, could you please let me know who I should reach out to in your respective Marcomms teams?
Many thanks, and have a good weekend!
Tom
