Thus spake Philip Smith (philip(a)nsrc.org) on Thu, Oct 14, 2021 at 09:03:17AM +1000:
I should mention that
http://www.traceroute.org/ has
documented Looking
Glasses for over 20 years. It doesn't seem to be maintained any more, but
many of the Looking Glasses listed there are still around.
Yep, it's been in a disappointing state for years now.
At this point, each ASN should be self-maintaining their
peeringdb.org
entry where one can specify the URL for their router proxy.
And of course, anyone can log in to any of the
RouteViews nodes around the
world (
http://www.routeviews.org) without the limitations that Looking
Glass operators are forced to apply when giving the general public webui
access to their routers.
I used one just the other day! ;-)
