..and one more thing. Please feel free to add the link to the programme to your communication with your speakers and encourage them to download the calendar file for the session in which they will speak to their calendars. https://nordu.net/ndn2026/programme/, Then they have both timing and actual name of the room.
Kind regards,
Susanne

Dear all PC members and Vidar, Thank you for a great meeting yesterday where we covered a lot of ground – bit of a recap below.
For this year’s conference we have a keynote speaker for the closing session– Hrund Gunnsteinsdottir – who has asked for questions and input to her talk before she finalises her talk.
You can find our news item about Hrund here https://nordu.net/revival-of-the-non-artificial-intelligence-ndn2026-keynote..., please read it and send me your question or suggestion as to what else you would like to hear more about by 26 August. (I am aware that the deadline featured in the article says 1 September..)
As agreed, I have now drilled through the wiki and programme and tried to get an overview of what is missing and what is in place. Some of you will already have received individual notes from me on status.
If your sessions are all ok with all speakers registered, bios, pictures, abstracts, and titles please also make sure to reach out to the speakers in your session(s) and
* Agree on speaking order * Get all their mobile phone numbers * Inform them that all presentations will run from a presentation laptop in the room – presentations will be uploaded there in the correct order * Ask them to send their presentations to me (smi@nordu.net), cc to you. (Tuesday speakers by Friday 4 September, Wednesday and Thursday speakers by Monday 7 September) -if their presentations are horrendously big, I’ll look into an upload option. * Agree with speakers how you will inform them that their timeslot has come to an end (hand signs,,,…) * Ask them to come to the conference room 10 minutes before the session starts and meet them there – we will reserve seats on the front row for them, chat with them, make them feel comfortable. * If – and only if in emergency – you agree last minute with the speakers to change the speaking order, please make sure to inform the tech crew on site asap. * Align with your speakers that you will repeat questions from the audience – or the speaker can do it – just to make sure the question is recorded, otherwise it is only the response that is recorded properly.
Other Session Chair tasks * Check with Stina /myself at the registration desk if your speakers have picked up their badges in the morning * You will be asked to make a number of announcements (ex Tuesday you should announce the Lightning Talks session and the opening reception, Wednesday misc. about dinner, etc., more specifics will follow) * Familiarize yourselves with the venue – where is the conference room.. * Be your own wonderful selves and have fun 😊
Looking forward to a great conference.
/Susanne
