Dear Josva,
I have a question about the speaker policy, mainly because the two initial sessions on Quantum and Time and Frequency Networks were squeezed into a single session. As we initially had 6 proposals and some of the proposed speakers were already reached by Jani, we were thinking on having a single 30-min slot with two speakers (two presenters from both EE-FI-SE and DK led projects, 15 min each, including questions).
The same may happen for the Sustainability track, where we have a proposal for two short presentations of real use cases (Kalix, Kaijani) in a single slot.
The speaker policy dictates that invited session speakers have the conference fee waived if they are external, while Nordic NREN employed presenters pay a reduced fee of 250 EUR. Lightning Talk speakers pay the early bird fee (unless they are Nordic NREN employed speakers, which pay 250 EUR).
In those hybrid cases (two speakers on a single slot), does the policy remain the same as for session speakers?
BTW, who offered to contact Kalix and Kaijani? Or, in any case, do you have any contact details I can use to contact them?
Thank you in advance and have a nice weekend.
Best regards,
Maria Isabel Gandia Carriedo

Hello Maria,
I have a question about the speaker policy, mainly because the two initial sessions on Quantum and Time and Frequency Networks were squeezed into a single session.
QCI session with NordicQCI and QCI.dk-CB is already handled, NordicQCI speaker will be from RISE (non-NREN) who will get his/her registration waived, QCI.dk-CB speaker is Martin Bech from DeIC who has his own discount as an NDN Board member (ie. no issue at all).
In those hybrid cases (two speakers on a single slot), does the policy remain the same as for session speakers?
Susanne said me that primary speaker will get potential discount. If more that one, others will pay normal fees (unless an exception).
BTW, who offered to contact Kalix and Kaijani? Or, in any case, do you have any contact details I can use to contact them?
I've tried to find a person but a volunteer is still missing. My boss (Juha Oinonen) is in charge of our datacenters as well, so maybe he or someone else who knows our Kajaani environment deeply enough.
From SUNET side (Kalix) I would propose contacting Börje Josefsson (bj@sunet.se).
BR, Jani

I would say that the policy remains in place - there is still more to presenting in a session than a lightning talk.

Of course there is a distinction between us deciding that we want two speakers, or the case where a speaker we invite would like to bring an additional speaker. -- Josva Kleist, Ph.D. NORDUnet A/S Kastruplundgade 22, 1, DK-2770 Kastrup Cell phone: +45 3162 1403, Zoom: josva Email: kleist@nordu.net

Dear Josva,
Understood. In this case, it's us deciding that we want wo speakers in a single time slot. Thank you for clarifying.
