Dear colleagues It took a little longer than expected, but now I’ve been over all the session descriptions and shortened them. I suggest that as a next step, Susanne finds her old trusted quillie and the red ink and go over the texts, fixing whatever nonsense I’ve managed to add and then session responsible takes a quick final look, write here if there is anything needing discussion or just a short “it all looks good” if that should be the case. We should not spend ages on this now - rather time on getting speakers in. Wrapping up session descriptions before publishing the programme

Dear all! I’ve taken a look at the session descriptions we have so far and while they all look good, I fear that some are perhaps making promises we cannot keep, simply due to the fact that we do not yet have the speakers. I am not suggesting we should through it all away, but keep the longer texts as a personal reminder for who we would like to ensure as speakers and what we would like to achieve with the session, and then create some shorter more generic texts to go on the initial version of the programme. Then once we have speakers confirmed, if we do our job well, parts go into the description of the actual presentations and parts may move back into the session description. Since, I am in the lucky situation that I can decide what I spend my time on - only having to consult my wife ;-) - I can volunteer to run through the texts together with Susanne. If there are others that feels the urge, please come forward, or if you think, I am completely out on a limb, speak up. Speaker list in wiki, etc.

Hi all, I have created a page with a speaker list that eventually will hold the complete overview of speakers and their registration status. I will go through the individual session pages and pick the names from there as per your input – however, it would be amazing if you could add the e-mail address of the speaker in the speaker list once confirmed. When you have a speaker confirmed, drop me a note and I will share the relevant registration link that you can send to your speaker. Some questions about the speakers NDN26 and the sessions

Dear all, I would like to check a couple of things about the session speakers to invite, but for some things I’m not fully sure: 1. Enabling Access session I think we should leave some opening for the submissions, so in that light should we invite only Stefan (who will be no doubt at NDN conference) ? I think we should be able to have 2 decent submissions to complete the session - Thoughts? 2. Why project fails session - This is not in the programme grid anymore. Was it killed or repurposed? 3. Disruption session - I really like the "History of the NREN's are we falling behind” do we have a name for a person that could do such a talk? We have Michiel - I’ll email him today. What about Leif? What would he talk about ? We would need 3 speakers here 4. What about eduroam? I feel eduroam it’s often neglected. It can be in the enabling access, can be in the network, can be in the community we serve. It would be good not to forget about it, if anything because it’s one of the good thing our community is known for. And the nordics are v active there. Thanks! Hi all, Nice to see all the activity in the session descriptions. There are a few additional bits of information you can share /ask for already when you talk to your speakers in addition to the information about the registration fee (ref earlier mail but now included also below) * Non-Nordic NREN speakers will have their fees waived * Nordic NREN speakers will have a reduced fixed fee of EUR 250 * All sessions will be live streamed and archived* * .pdf versions of the presentations will be uploaded to the programme page after the conference * Please ask for a short bio and a recent picture to upload to the programme ** *Please ask your speaker to confirm in writing (email is fine) that they are ok with this **We know that there are some people who will not want their picture in the programme – this is perfectly ok. Dear Programme Committee First of all, thanks for a productive meeting last week. We can now clearly see the contours of the conference, thought there is still much work to do. Thanks to Ingimar we have now secured our final keynote - Hrund Gunnsteinsdottir (https://www.hrundgunnsteinsdottir.com/). I am absolutely certain she will provide an excellent keynote and give our participants something to think about. This naturally also means that I have declined the offer we received for Bent Flyvbjerg. Not we all just need to get moving with the contents of the sessions. Hi all, Hope that you had a safe trip back home after some energetic and busy days. It really was a pleasure. I have updated the grid page with a picture of the programme skeleton – and also the grid. You will see who have been assigned to chair each session. The session titles in the grid page only reflects the shortened ones from the post-it notes. They will be updated once you have reviewed the titles – and the session descriptions for the sessions you have been assigned to chair. https://portal.nordu.net/x/JACREQ. The deadline agreed for this is Wednesday 11 Feb EOB. During the meeting we discussed how you can approach track speakers that you want to invite. The style will of course have to be your own individual depending upon how (well) you know the speaker. The titles of the talks that were discussed during the meeting can of course be adjusted as per your agreement with the speaker as long as you find that it still fits the session (description). We distinguish between “external” and “Nordic NREN employed” speakers. * “External” speakers are from a non-Nordic NREN, and their registration fees will be waived. * “Nordic NREN employed speakers” are from a Nordic NREN /NORDUnet, and they will get a discounted registration fee of EUR 250. For more details about the two types of speaker, please see the wiki https://portal.nordu.net/x/vAA0Eg I will create registration links matching the above that you can share with your speakers in due course. Keynote speakers will be dealt with separately. Each of you will also receive a link to register for free.
