One more update

Dear Programme Committee Licia and I talked yesterday about our final plenary speaker. As you may recall we went for Shelley Stall and without a lot of success. Licia and I agreed that we should move on. Next on our list is Alexandra Krautwald on “the young generation”. In the meantime I have managed to dig out some more information about her. She is a consultant (and will therefor with all likelihood cost us money), has her own web-page in Danish (https://www.alexandrakrautwald.dk <https://www.alexandrakrautwald.dk/>) and there are a few YouTube videos of her. I am now not so sure if we should approach her - she was good when I listened to her, but the videos do not really indicate that she would be a good speaker and on those she is only speaking Danish. I would appreciate your input, before doing anything. Dear NORDUnet 2026 Programme Committee I trust you have all now safely arrived in 2026. To make sure everybody is in the loop, I will do a quick update of where we are even though nothing has changed since before Christmas - We have 3 plenary speakers secured, one still pending. - A lot of session descriptions are already in https://portal.nordu.net/spaces/NDN2026, if you find time, feel free to add some more, it will save us a lot of time when we have the F2F meeting on Feb 4 to 5, if we have them ready. Today's catch up - short summary

Dear NDN26 PC We had our short catch up today for those that could make it. Things are shaping up nicely - we have secured our two first keynotes - Katarina Gårdfeld from the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat and our ESA Astronaut Trainer. We are still waiting for a reply from the other two. With two secured already, we are doing better than we usually do at this time of year. We also have a number of proposed session descriptions in the wiki and please to keep on adding. If you have ideas for potential speakers in a session, feel free to drop the names too. The plan is to wait reaching out people in the sessions until after our Feb programme committee meeting, but the more we have in the wiki, the better. We will to a second VC for those who can on January 13, just to check up on progress. Susanne will send out an invitation later today. I was thinking to solicit papers on the more innovative side of things :) What do you think about this? “ Identity is a foundational enabler for accessing online resources—and our community has been at the forefront of federated access for more than a decade. In that time, the landscape has shifted dramatically. Technology has evolved, policies have tightened, and expectations around how digital identities and user information are shared have changed. Today, academic identity solutions increasingly intersect with commercial managed services, creating both opportunities and uncertainties. So where do we go next? What are the new developments in the T&I services in our community? What challenges lie ahead ? My departure from NORDUnet and the conference

Dear Programme Committee As some of you certainly have seen on LinkedIN, I announced this Wednesday, that I will be leaving NORDUnet to seek new challenges. Valter has kindly requested that I continue my work in the programme committee until after our next programme committee meeting in February, which is a request I am happy to accept. So, you still have to suffer with me ;-) The work with you in the programme committee is one I fully enjoy and will continue enjoying. Valter has also invited me to attend the conference, which I will look forward to do, provided whatever I am involved in when September comes allows for it.
