Hello GREN Mappers,
(Quick note: the minutes from the last meeting have been published on the Wiki<https://wiki.geant.org/display/GlobalMap/Global+Interactive+Map>.)
As discussed in the last meeting, at long last, a version of the GREN Map software suitable for early adoption and alpha testing has been released.
As a reminder, we hope and expect that eventually, every REN will maintain an instance of this software to contain their own data. Each instance will also be able to be configured to collect and merge in data from smaller RENs within the geo-political areas served by larger interconnecting RENs. Ultimately, a single instance for the entire GREN will contain all data bubbled up from all other instances.
The version of the software released now is intended as a preview, called the “Sandbox”, and does not have these data collection features enabled: as the features and security mature, we will release versions with more functionality. This “Sandbox” is intended to be installed in an environment not exposed/visible to the public Internet, and is released as-is.
We encourage every member of this Working Group to try out this software and send us any feedback you may have by May 31, and pass this on to your colleagues as well.

* Import spreadsheet or GRENML data, if available
* Enter/update data manually
* See your network data on a map!
System requirements: up-to-date Docker & Docker Compose engines.
Installation instructions are found in the package’s README.md file, which also points towards the beginnings of some usage instructions.
Installation does not permanently modify the host system in any way. Data entered into the Sandbox database is not stored persistently; destroying the Docker containers discards all data entered.

TNC21 Demo: Discussion Topic for Meeting on Tuesday, 16 March
Next Tuesday we have our next scheduled call for 13:00 UTC (if you do not have the invite please let Ryan and me know). As I expect you are aware, a proposal for a demo was submitted for TNC21<https://tnc21.geant.org/> (21-25 June), and is scheduled for 11:40 CEST (09:40 UTC) on Monday 21 June. In order to prepare for the demo, it is proposed that in next week's meeting, we discuss what should be included in the demo and how it should be run. So in advance of the discussion, we would like to invite you to give this a little thought, and share any ideas you have next Tuesday.
Meeting Times
Also, aware of the challenges that the time we typically hold our meetings is inconvenient for some participants, we would like to explore the possibility of holding some of the meetings at different times of the day. To help get an idea of what might be feasible, we have prepared a doodle poll: https://doodle.com/poll/vy629fmsxnzfq8zu?utm_source=poll&utm_medium=link.
The doodle poll is set up with a view to after clock changes in the coming weeks. The date you will see is 30 April (by when I believe all clock changes will have occurred across the globe). However, the doodle poll is not to find a time on 30 April, rather to find out what times of the day are feasible for you to participate on a call, based on the following:
* Green tick - Comfortable time and usually available at this time, assuming there are no meeting clashes
* Amber tick - Outside comfortable time, but can make this time on occasions.
* Blank - not possible for me at this time.
